Following their critically-acclaimed recent releases “If It Makes You Feel Better” and “That Would Be a Lie”, which caught the attention of top tastemakers across the board, London male/female duo Kira return with “Wanna Go Back”, their first offering of 2019.

A gorgeous 70s-laced R&B instrumental allows a superb vocal performance to shine and provides a backdrop for wistful lyrics laced with melancholy. Speaking on the track, Kira state: “This song started life one night in LA, looking out over the lights of the Hollywood Hills. It’s about getting to a point near the end of a relationship where things aren’t the same anymore. Wishing you could go back to the start, if only for a moment, to feel the way you used to.”

With influences that take in everything from Blood Orange to Fleetwood Mac, “Wanna Go Back” will continue to generate intrigue around an act as fresh as they are a bonafide artistic talent who can count the likes of NOISEY, WONDERLAND and i-D as fans.

With a stripped-down show on 23rd May at Fiction Studios, mark Kira as a firm one to watch for 2019.
