Karen Atkins’ new single The Right Time is literally coming out at the ‘right time,’ as women around the world are empowering themselves, amplifying their voices and taking bold new strides towards equality. It’s been a long time coming, and Karen is no stranger to navigating a patriarchal society, including redefining what it means to be a woman in the entertainment industry. With roots as a budding rock star, on the verge of fame and fortune in her mid 20s, Karen had to step away from the music industry in part to get away from the toxic culture of show business.
During her journey of self-discovery and healing, Karen became a health practitioner, gaining the experience and tools to teach thousands of her students how to begin their own healing journeys. Through her travels around the world and studies with different gurus and teachers, she re-ignited her passion for music and re-discovered that being a songwriter was indeed one of her life’s greatest callings.
“The Right Time” is also a story about choosing the highway over their way , ‘they’ being a neglectful partner, hurtful family member or any other unhealthy relationship in one’s life. We can’t force people to change, but we can choose to change our experience, and sometimes we just have to walk away. “The Right Time” is the story of finding the courage to do what’s best for yourself without apologizing.
