Who inspired you to make music?

I honestly can’t really explain it. My life changed overnight Newyear’s eve of 2020.  I feel like a mission and purpose have been put on my path to help save and change the lives of others through my music, encouragement  and speaking.

Would you have any advice for would-be artists or songwriters wanting to follow in your footsteps?

Find your WHY. Find your reason for why you write your songs and sing, and what is your purpose. Is it to send a message, relate with others, and be compassionate? Is it coming from your heart and soul and if it is don’t ever give up or let it go because someone needs you.

Sugar Rose

How do you go about writing a song? Do you have a melody in your head and then write the other music for it?

The words and a form of a melody just come to me. I don’t play any instruments so sometimes it’s a bit tricky but it all seems to fall in place.

When you create music, what is your personal purpose or goal?

I am a motivational speaker for PTSD and suicide awareness along with a singer/songwriter. The music I write and sing is truly to help others whether it’s 1 or 1 million if my words or voice speak to one person, change a heart, help heal, or save a life that is exactly why I am here.

What is your current music project about?

My current project truly pertains to my WHY and purpose in doing what I do. I wrote a song called 1 family 1 fight 1 mission to say we are all in this together. It takes one person to start to make a difference but it takes a family to make a movement.

In the next 6 months? Are any releases planned? Future gigs?

Answer: Yes very excited to announce 1 family 1 mission 1 fight releases everywhere on Aug 22nd. We are working on a boots on the ground tour through The Peoples Patriot Project and myself to go state to state to speak and sing. Doing our best to make a difference in the lives of others one person at a time. I will be in Bryan TX, San Antonio and a few leading cities along the way in October.

Do you have any other plans relating to this release? A video? Online Shows?

I currently have a Motivational speaking radio show through The Peoples Patriot Project and WeP3 radio every Monday airing on my Facebook and the other handles mentioned.   1 Family 1 Mission 1 Fight is my motto and the forefront of why I wrote the song to help make a difference. I have a few podcast interviews coming up talking about my show and my tour starting. Possible video in the future.

Which famous musicians do you admire?

Aaron Lewis all the way! I love how patriotic he is and he stands for what he believes in. He touches people with his music.

What led you to become a music artist and what advice can you give to others aspiring to make a hit?

I have sung and written poetry since I was a young girl. I put down everything when I became a teenager and life just went in a different direction. I was an Army wife to a veteran for many years and a Family readiness leader for the National Guard for soldiers and their families. I owned a coffee shop for a few years and it’s where I found my passion to speak to people. I supported not only our military and veterans but first responders, police, fire and anyone truly struggling or needing an ear or a shoulder. I became the town therapist. I sang once in a while with the bands I brought in but never went beyond that. In 2020 My life crashed suddenly due to very unforeseen circumstances and Covid caused me to shut my doors. I fell into a place where I was lost. I lost myself, literally lost everything, my business, home, and marriage all at once.  I believe that we go through every little thing for a reason and a bigger purpose. The good, bad, and the ugly. I’ve always felt I have a purpose here almost like a life mission but never could put my finger on what it was until I stood with nothing and could only look up. My life literally changed overnight and my singing career came crashing into my life. I still to this day can’t explain it but it’s beautiful and is so much bigger than just music. If I never have a hit that’s ok. If I save the change or give hope to another that’s why I’m here.

Do you sing in the shower? What songs?

Yes, absolutely all the time. Some are just my favorite songs and some are lyrics and tunes that just hit me. One time I had lyrics hit me in the shower and I had to run out hair sopping wet and write them down or I’d lose them. They come in spurts.

What would be a good theme song for your life?

Find beauty in your pain.

If you could ask your future self one question, what would it be?

Would you do it all over again every experience, every lesson, every heartache, every happy moment, every memory?

If you were talking to a younger version of you, what advice would you give yourself?

You are going to go through hurt, pain, lessons, experiences, love, loss, hope, hurt, happy times, and sad times, people will come and go but stay strong because you are meant for something so beautiful so much bigger than you ever know and you will see when the timing is meant to so keep pushing forward every day and just remember there is such a beautiful plan for your life.
