George Collins, the introspective singer-songwriter, unveils his autobiographical gem, “Where Have I Been All Your Life,” a heartland rocker that delves into the poignant struggle of balancing the demands of being an indie musician with the responsibilities of family life.

The song’s poetic lyrics paint vivid scenes and evoke a profound sense of reflection, capturing the raw emotions of a musician torn between pursuing his passion and being present for his loved ones. “Where Have I Been All Your Life” showcases Collins’ ability to craft emotionally resonant songs that capture the complexities of life’s choices. He opens up a window into the universal struggle of following one’s dreams while tending to personal responsibilities. Through his soulful voice and beautifully vulnerable lyrics, he creates a heartfelt connection with listeners, reminding us of the challenges and sacrifices inherent in the pursuit of our passions.

Collins’ musical journey began at a young age, receiving his first guitar at the tender age of four. His passion for songwriting emerged early on, and he honed his craft through years of dedication to both guitar and piano. However, influenced by the struggles he witnessed among older musicians, Collins decided to explore other career paths, fearing a similar fate.

In a moment of transformative clarity, Collins made the courageous decision to prioritize his creative calling and embrace full-time parenthood when he became a father in 2012. Leaving behind a successful career as an investment consultant and financial executive, Collins dedicated himself to nurturing his artistic world and creating a meaningful connection with his family, and this newest single is the foot-tapping result of that ongoing journey.

I fell in love with music when I first picked up a guitar at age 8. When I played, my friends and family would smile and spill with joy over the music I played, even though it was never Grammy quality. While my music career never made it past high school, my love for music never waivered. I loved the feeling of bringing a smile to someone's face through music and wanted to keep that passion going. So, I took it upon myself to continue to support and promote artists by writing about their music. This way, I can support my personal passion for music and bring entertain and joy to others through music.  Outside my love for music, I do enjoy a good hike and being in the outdoors. My favorite place that I've hiked is in Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. I love to travel too. I've been to Costa Rica, Vancouver, BC, and England, but the best place by far is Germany on Oktoberfest. I liken that experience to being in New Orleans on Mardi Gras. I like a good book now and then, but I'm more of a streaming fiend. I live for crime docuseries on Netflix, veterinary shows on National Geographic, and re-watching Scrubs on Hulu.
