Atlanta-based songwriter Emmy Law is about to release her next single Kid on November 21 — days after she returns home from her first tour. The indie pop track comes on the heels of the release of her debut album Fairyland.
Emmy has spent the last couple of years joining forces with a band, and Kid is the first tune they’ve recorded together. The single is written about a painful childhood — a serious topic, but the vibe of the song is hopeful.
Emmy Law launched her solo project in 2016 when she moved to Atlanta. Since the move, she has performed in some of the city’s top venues, including historic Eddie’s Attic, Red Clay Music Foundry, and the Music Room at Smith’s Olde Bar. She’s also made a name for herself in Atlanta’s open mic scene by advancing to the final round in some of the city’s top open mic competitions.

About Emmy Law
Since moving to Atlanta in 2016, Emmy Law has performed in some of the city’s top venues, including Eddie’s Attic, Red Clay Theater, and the Music Room at Smith’s Olde Bar.
She’s also made a name for herself in Atlanta’s open mic scene, winning the night and advancing to the final round in a few of the best the city has to offer: Eddie’s Attic, EOP at the Red Clay Theater, and the 99x Original Series. In 2014, Emmy won the John Jarrard Foundation songwriting contest, which was judged in part by members of the Zac Brown Band.
As part of the contest winnings, Emmy opened onstage for some renowned Nashvillesongwriters , and says it’s been one of her favorite moments in her performing career. She released her debut EP ‘Fairyland’ in August 2018 after running a successful Kickstarter campaign. Emmy is currently performing and in the studio working on future releases.
