Comprising producer/drummer John Baillie Jr, and vocalist/songwriter Amandah Wilkinson, Glasgow’s Pop / Alt RnB duo, Bossy Love, get ready to release their highly-anticipated, debut EP Whiplash, on Jan 18th.

Following just a handful of self-released singles, Bossy Love have already been supported by the Guardian, Fader, Clash, LOBF, Dummy, Vic Galloway, Huw Stephens, Lauren Laverne, Spotify New Music Fridays, H&M, Topshop, Soccer AM and Made In Chelsea.

With the addition of Ollie Cox on keys, they’ve honed their live show touring with Kelis, Alma, Tank & The Bangas and Metronomy, and played Glastonbury; where their set was televised by the BBC, who duly invited Bossy Love back for a live session this summer.  Showcasing at The Great Escape last year, the 405 called Bossy Love’s set, “the most memorable stage performance of the weekend… the festival might not be big enough for them next year”, while Clash announced “Bossy Love steal the first day.”

The Whiplash EP is about breaking free from the everyday and chasing your dreams. I wrote it when I was in London working in an office job and I’d just decided to move to Glasgow to pursue bossy love with john. He sent me the tracks while I was at work – I literally top-lined them in the bathroom and finished the choruses at my desk, while pretending to order stationery. The Whiplash EP is about the beginning of our adventure together; waltzing into the unknown with a confident uncertainty, but knowing everything was going to be okay because I was doing it with my best friend.”

“You wish you were best friends with Bossy Love.” The Fader
“Like Prince on a trampoline.” The Guardian
Bossy Love are one of the most exciting bands on the planet.” Vic Galloway, BBC Scotland
