You only get the energetic, invigorating, and honest music of Angela Perry from growing up in a hard working town in Kansas, from experiencing life in it’s truest form with plenty of ups and downs. Now, she’s just as inspired by her new home of Brighton, CO, where she simultaneously finds the beauty in nature and recognizes it’s harshness. You can always count on Angela Perry to have songs full of heart, strength and the joys of living life.

“I followed my passion for music, it was what kept me going through the great times but most importantly through the darkest moments,” shares Angela.

Her newest album, 21 Dayz, truly showcases her musical talent and her symbolic songwriting. Each song carries a heavy theme, whether it be about nature or situations we all face. She opens your eyes to ideas that you never thought about, invoking further exploration of these topics. The upbeat folk style title song, “21 Dayz,” takes on the idea of breaking habits as 21 days is how long it takes to change a habit or mindset. It can be challenging to do this, but represents starting over. Interesting that it’s the opening song, like she’s asking the listener to start fresh, to put aside your preconceived notions of her music and come in with new eyes.

Her song “Sister Cry” is the darkest, thematically speaking, but also the most poignant and meaningful. This song is about the around the world, cultures, and societies, women go missing and/or murdered simply for being who they are. Indigenous Women are 10X more likely to be murdered than any other ethnicity. The song is sung in the victim’s perspective, crying out “why.” They are crying for everyone too blinded to see truth, hoping to grab the attention of someone who cares. The lyrics are juxtaposed with an upbeat melody, signifying the truth hidden behind the fluffier and prettier stuff.

Another song that stands out is “Midnight Blue.” It’s about an illusion between love and lover. The piano melody and the minor chord progression creates the illusion of love. “Just one touch is needed to feel their love as their sweet sad melody plays beseeching the lover to become more than fantasy,” shares Angela. “The song was written in the realm that fantasy is sometimes better than reality and it is a place visited often.”

21 Dayz shares the stories of the heart and soul, telling life’s tales through timeless themes. 21 Dayz is beautiful collection songs that’s a must listen.

I fell in love with music when I first picked up a guitar at age 8. When I played, my friends and family would smile and spill with joy over the music I played, even though it was never Grammy quality. While my music career never made it past high school, my love for music never waivered. I loved the feeling of bringing a smile to someone's face through music and wanted to keep that passion going. So, I took it upon myself to continue to support and promote artists by writing about their music. This way, I can support my personal passion for music and bring entertain and joy to others through music.  Outside my love for music, I do enjoy a good hike and being in the outdoors. My favorite place that I've hiked is in Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. I love to travel too. I've been to Costa Rica, Vancouver, BC, and England, but the best place by far is Germany on Oktoberfest. I liken that experience to being in New Orleans on Mardi Gras. I like a good book now and then, but I'm more of a streaming fiend. I live for crime docuseries on Netflix, veterinary shows on National Geographic, and re-watching Scrubs on Hulu.
