Directed by Sherif Higazy, the video imagery takes the viewer through a mysterious jungle on an LA rooftop and we see Stoner surrounded by animalistic dancers, each displaying eccentric and underground styles of movement. Lyrically, Stoner sings candidly about the darker, messier sides of ourselves. She comes face-to-face with desire and impulse in a place where she is fully human and authentic without judgement.
Additionally, Stoner has been chosen as one of the top finalists in the “Macy’s iHeartRadio Rising Star” annual, fan-voted competition. It provides emerging artists the chance to perform on the same stage as music’s biggest superstars at the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Festival and select Macy’s events this fall. Fans can vote for Stoner starting now by visiting www.iheartradio.com/risingstar or via Twitter by mentioning Alyson Stoner along with the hashtag #RISINGSTAR. A winner will be announced on July 6th, 2016.
Alyson Stoner got her start at the young age of seven when Missy Elliott featured her as the “Little Pigtailed dancer” in her legendary music video for “Work It”, “Gossip Folks”, and “I’m Really Hot.” Since then, Stoner has become a powerhouse triple threat with blockbuster movies (Step Up,Camp Rock) hit tv shows (Disney’s Award-winning Phineas & Ferb), and viral dance videos such as her iconic “Missy Elliott Tribute video” garnering over 15 million views in record time. Evolving and transforming from her previous songs, her 2016 debut single, “Woman,” announced her arrival as a confident, charismatic and captivating songstress.
With her latest single “Back To Church,” Stoner powerfully solidifies her voice as truly her own. Beyond being a consummate entertainer across mediums, she remains active in the iPourLife organization, venturing to third world countries, fighting poverty and instituting sustainability.
