Already an accomplished songwriter following collaborations with Charli XCX (co-writer of ‘Boys’), Alicia Keys and Sam Hunt, Ingrid Andress has made a compelling introduction as an artist in her own right. Hailing from Denver and now based in Nashville, Ingrid’s first four tracks have already exceeded 35 million streams. And that’s sure to explode as she turns her attention to the UK with her single ‘Lady Like’ out now via Parlophone – a track which has over 10 million streams.

‘Lady Like’ strikes at the heart of Ingrid’s gifted songwriting ability  as an empowering ballad delivered with elegance. And then the hook – immediately irresistible and pulsating with drama – takes the song stratospheric.

Ingrid commented, “This song is very special to me as it’s probably the most honest I’ve ever been with myself and to others about what I think and feel. For the longest time I felt out of place and misjudged by the people around me because I never seemed to fit into the “gender stereotype” boxes we’ve all sat in for so long. I tried to “fix” or hide the woman inside of me so I could be accepted by the majority, but it ended up making me miserable, bored, and lonely. This song was written when I decided to stop apologising. For everything. Because I get to be whatever the hell I want, whenever I want. And so do you.”

As good at sports as she was writing songs, Ingrid has been chipping away at expectations of herself, and her sound, since she was a child.  She was born into a large family and homeschooled for most of her youth, growing up outside of the traditional definitions that apply to most kids – of what little girls are “supposed” to do, or how she was supposed to interact with the world around her.

Having debuted earlier this year, Ingrid’s rising talent was recognised with a host of Ones To Watch list in the States. Rooted in country yet with huge crossover pop potential, she possesses a unique and moving voice; one that is honest, raw and refreshing.

Ingrid played her first UK shows at the Country 2 Country festival earlier this year. She’s now set to play her first headline tour here with the following dates:

September
24th – London, The Courtyard Theatre
25th – Manchester, The Castle Hotel
26th – Glasgow, King Tuts Wah Wah Hut
