Inanna is a singer, belly dancer, environmentalist & animal advocate of Italian origins. Inanna reinvents environmentalist music in an eco-alt-pop project dedicated to the Earth and all its landscapes and life forms, through a mesmerizing collection of future-oriented pieces.
Her passion for Nature, animals, alternative & Middle Eastern music has given life to a unique and genre-bending ethno-alt-pop sound.
The interactions between humans, technology, animals and Nature are being witnessed and given a voice, bringing a hopeful message for possible futures on Earth.
Inanna’s music is a contemporary cathartic spell of an enchantress, of a cyber-priestess standing between Nature and Culture, light & dark, old & new, feminine & masculine, melting together in unique atmospheres.
Inanna’s mission is to deliver, through enchanting soundscapes and an innovative mixture of ancient and contemporary beats, a message of peace, environmentalism, respect for our planet and all its creatures. Earth is what unites us all: it is our home.
This project aims to give a voice to Nature in the age of the Anthropocene, to animals in the age of massive animal exploitation, and to empathetic perspectives in politics and society to take good care of the Earth.
Inanna witnesses the darkness, and at the same time shapes hopeful visions of the future in a time where everything seems to be slipping through our hands.
Her music is dedicated to all environmentalists, animalists, futurists, visionaries, nature lovers, Middle-Eastern culture lovers and alternative music fans. Inanna’s allies, in music and beyond, are here to be stewards of planet Earth.
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
I like calling it eco-alternative pop with a dash of Middle-Eastern spice on it.
What is your favorite song to perform?
So far, “Pandora”. I haven’t released this song yet, it will be one of my next releases. But I have already performed it live once and I have enjoyed singing it like no other song before. It is very powerful.
What sets your music apart? What is unique, or at least uncommon?
The Middle-Eastern touch is definitely quite unique for alternative pop, but I think what sets my music apart is definitely my message: all my songs are entirely dedicated to nature, animals and the future of the planet.
Do you have any other plans relating to this release? A video? Online Shows?
Yes, my latest single “Collapse of An Empire” will have a video soon! It will be released close to Earth Day, in April. It was my first music video shot entirely on green screen, so I am very curious about the result.
When you create music, what is your personal purpose or goal?
My main goal is to inspire people to do the better thing, to make better choices for the planet. I want to make the audience feel awe and reverence toward the natural world, and inspire them to stand up for it. I want to be one of the loud voices of a necessary movement, a movement of artists speaking up for the planet and all its inhabitants.
If you could be a superhero, what would your superpower be and your superhero name?
I would be Gaia. My superpowers would include: rewilding the Earth, saving all animals, helping young Earth-loving leaders to rise, making the whole world switch to plant-based foods and clothing, and teaching Earthlings to live on renewable energies.
What historical Figure would you love to see in 21st century life?
I’d love to see one of the great Egyptian queens dealing with the issues of our century: queen Hatshepsut or queen Nefertiti for example.
If you could learn any language fluently what would it be?
Absolutely Arabic. I love how it sounds. I am trying to learn it on Duolingo, but I haven’t gotten very far.
If you were to write an autobiography, what would the title be?
“The Long and Winding Road to Acrotopia”
You are a new addition to a crayon box. What color would you be and why?
Sage. It’s the perfect mix of sky, green and soil.
