Keeping ourselves clean and healthy is vital for our bodies. We eat, sleep, and do everything with the help of our bodies. The female body needs special care. Our skin is more sensitive. Our hormones affect our mood significantly. And we need gentle and special care “down there”!

We’re here to help you with healthy habits to address issues women have problems with, such as dry skin, poor diet, and Vaginal itch relief. Forming these healthy habits will keep you and your body feeling your best every day.

Here are some habits to keep you clean and healthy

Keep Your Diet Healthy

We are often tempted to eat whatever is convenient or yummy. However, some of us rarely consider the consequences of not being mindful of what we consume. The food we eat fuels our bodies. Whatever we consume is what our body uses to function every day.

Our gut health has a huge influence on the rest of our bodies. The microbes in our stomachs are always in communication with our brains. This can affect our metabolism, mood, and overall health.

So what should we be eating?

Doctors say we should focus on eating fruits, vegetables, and whole-grain foods. For dairy, we should choose low-fat or fat-free products. We should also be eating healthy protein. Some examples of healthy protein are lean meats, seafood, eggs, legumes, and soy products.

Of course, there are things that we should avoid, like diets with high salt and sugar content. We should also avoid harmful fats such as saturated fats and trans-fats in our food intake. Alcohol intake should also be regulated. There is no safe level when it comes to drinking alcohol, but over usage can lead to liver problems and other diseases.

Doing so will help us keep a healthy weight and good overall health.

Get a Good Skincare Routine

One of our body’s largest organs is our skin. It covers almost every part of our body and protects us from our environment. Our skin sheds thousands of skin cells every day. We need to keep it nourished so that it will keep glowing and healthy. Starting a good skincare routine while you are younger also helps lessen the signs of skin aging through the years.

We will only cover the very basic skincare for our face and body. Washing our faces daily helps prevent bacteria and dead skin cells from accumulating. Not doing so would make us prone to acne caused by bacteria and clogged pores. However, doing so may strip our skin of its natural oils. We should use a gentle cleanser and moisturize after to replenish our face’s moisture.

Just because the face is what most people focus on does not mean we can forgo cleanliness for the body. We should also cleanse our bodies and regularly exfoliate our skin. We must be gentle with our bodies as well. Opting for a gentle cleanser and exfoliator such as donkey milk vs goat milk soap is good enough to keep our skin nourished. Incorporating this into your routine can do wonders.

Sunscreen is vital for healthy skin. We should be using it on our faces and bodies. Sun damage is the main cause of discoloration, skin aging, and skin cancer. Using sunscreen will help shield us from the harmful UV rays we are exposed to daily. Even when we are indoors, we are still exposed to these UV rays. This is why we must never skip sunscreen during our skincare routine.

Keep Yourself Active

It is common to hear others say, “Eat your vegetables and exercise every day,” and they’re right. Eating a healthy diet and doing physical activity every day will keep you in shape. But how much physical activity should we do every day?

The answer is: it depends.

According to the World Health Organization guidelines for 2020

Adults should do 150-300 minutes of moderate-intensity or 75-150 minutes of high-intensity physical activity weekly. In contrast, children and adolescents should have an average of 60 minutes of moderate to high physical activity daily.

Incorporating physical activity into your daily routine helps build muscle strength and endurance. It strengthens our hearts and lungs. It also releases chemicals in our body that helps us improve our moods, such as endorphins and serotonin.

Exercise is an all-encompassing way to ensure that our body works as it needs to. Be sure to include this in your daily habits or schedule.

There are a few things how to increase energy levels. First, make sure you’re getting enough sleep. Getting at least 8 hours of sleep per night will help your body feel rested and refreshed. Second, eat healthy foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Practice Proper Vaginal Care

Females need to take care of their reproductive organs. They are delicate and sensitive, and grabbing the nearest product available in supermarkets may not necessarily be what you need. The products you use on your face and body may also not be compatible with your vagina and vulva.

To wash your vagina, you should only use warm water and mild soap. Your lady parts do not need fancy scented products and may be counterproductive to your cleanliness. Your vagina is a self-cleaning organ and does not need much. Using harsh products may lead to killing your vagina’s natural microbiome.

If this does happen and there is an imbalance in your vagina’s natural microbiome, you may be prone to infections. This would lead to vaginal itching. You can use a vaginal itching cream for this. If symptoms do persist, you must visit your OB-GYN.

Conclusion

Your body is your home on Earth. You must consistently take care of it daily because you need to build habits. Preventive and occasional care is not enough to keep our bodies healthy. This article discussed 4 habits that can help you keep your body healthy. You should eat a healthy diet, get a good skincare routine, do physical activity daily and practice proper vaginal care.

Building these habits may be difficult. It is okay to start slowly and take it one step at a time. It may be hard to adjust initially, especially if your lifestyle is far from what is mentioned in the article. Be kind to yourself and stay healthy.
