About the Author
Cate Ashwood wrote her very first story in a hot-pink binder when she was in the second grade and found her passion for writing. Her first successful foray into romance writing came five years later when she wrote her best friend, who was experiencing a case of unrequited love, her own happily ever after. Cate’s life has taken a number of different and adventurous roads. She now lives a stone’s throw from the ocean, just outside of Vancouver, British Columbia with her husband, her brand new little boy, and her two cats. Her life is filled with family and friends, travel, and, of course, books.

A rocky start!
This is the story of two very different men - West, the successful, workaholic businessman, who, though immense wealthy, is unhappy with his life, and Rush, the retired Marine, contentedly running his Christmas tree farm back in his hometown.
I liked West a lot, focused, hardworking, and a caring and appreciative boss. Rush, not so much. He started well, but his reaction when meeting West for the first time took him straight to the top of my shit list! Rush's initial loathing of West is explained a little later in the book, but for me, it really isn't enough to totally justify his behaviour.
Rush does however redeem himself as the story moves along, showing unexpected caring and real affection for West at an emotionally difficult time, the relationship between the two men, heating up beautifully, both emotionally and physically.
Would I have loved them more if Rush hadn't been such an ass? Yes, probably, but the connection was most definitely there for me. These two guys were a hot couple, who developed an honest, open, believable relationship after a decidedly rocky start. I was rooting for a happy ending for them, and that is what I got.
A little angst, a lot of love, and some scorching sex scenes. What more could a girl ask for?
