Cabe got out of the gun-for-hire business the hard way—by nearly dying. Except then his former boss calls in one last favor for one final job. The mission should be simple: get a message to a retired operative in Alaska. But it puts Cabe face-to-face with the one man he doesn’t want to see and can never forget. Not after all the secrets and lies. Not after Brax almost killed him.

Brax Hughes lived hard and retired young to a cabin in the middle of nowhere. Well, that was the plan, but before he can hang up his sniper rifle, he has one last mission: win back Kyle Cabe. Brax wants another chance, wants to come clean, but after months of lying to Cabe, he knows he could face a bullet—or worse—when they meet again. And they will meet. Brax made sure of that.

With a storm moving in and someone lurking outside the cabin, time is running out. Brax needs to talk fast and keep his weapons ready. And his best weapon is the truth.

Stranded by HelenKay Dimon reviewed by Janice Birnie
When two or more of my favourite genres combine I know I'm in for a treat. Stranded by HELENKAY DIMON combines the mystery/thriller and MM genres into one fast paced book full of twists and turns and hot man on man action.

Brax and Cabe are two strong Alpha males working for a clandestine company which plans and executes operations against enemies the world over. They have assassinated some very bad men during their careers and more than one survivor is very happy to know they are both now 'dead'. Brax is the one who is supposed to have killed Cabe before he himself was killed in retaliation. The fact that they are both still alive and in hiding is meant to be secret from all but their boss. Brax, however, has always known.

Cabe thinks Brax is dead and has spent almost a year trying to recover from his injuries as well as Brax's betrayal. Cabe owes his boss a favour and is sent on one last mission. He must deliver a message to an unknown agent living in an isolated cabin in Alaska. When Cabe arrives and finds the man who tried to kill him isn't dead after all he reacts with anger and hurt. All Cabe knows is that Brax is the man he loved and who attempting to kill him.

Unknown dangers lurk in the forest surrounding them and when these two men are trapped in the cabin by a storm Cabe must learn to trust Brax again if they are to survive.

Without giving too much of the plot away I must say that I felt having to come up against, and defeat, their greatest adversary would have made this a perfect 5 star read for me. I'd have loved to see them in action together against a more formidable foe. That being said, Stranded was a riveting read with some very sizzling moments between the MC's. It has a perfect HEA and is a thoroughly satisfying read.
