Summer is coming to a close and the season of excitement is upon us. With the beautiful weather changes comes alternative rock Sparkman’s first full-length record Searching For The Dawn. Drifting purposefully through each track, Chris Vercauteren’s robust vocals are something of another dimension, demonstrated from the very first line of introduction track “Devils”. Pair Vercauteren’s calming vocals with exciting electric guitar rhythms and heavy drum beats and you uncover Sparkman’s symbolic story about new beginnings. From start to finish, Searching For The Dawn narrates Sparkman’s bold search for a more meaningful life, for something more than the mundane 9 to 5. It’s time to wake up and discover a brand new path with Sparkman.

Three-piece Sparkman began as a one-man act, Sparkman started with Charlotte native Chris Vercauteren, his Taylor acoustic guitar, and a dream. Setting out to narrate life’s moments of sunshine, Vercauteren uses the grace and calming rhythms of acoustic guitar to complement his drifting soft, yet strong vocal talent in Sparkman’s Searching For The Dawn. After releasing two singles off the album “Fireworks” and “Weekend”, the band’s first full-length album reveals a new perspective on growing up and searching for a bigger purpose.

With Charlotte’s music scene bubbling with local showcases and artist networking opportunities, Vercauteren met the two newest members of Sparkman: Brandon Clayton (drums) and Taylor West (bass), creating a full-band version of Sparkman that brings a magical live experience at each show they play. Taking advantage of Charlotte’s live music appreciation, Sparkman draws an enthusiastic crowd full of cheers after each song. Each live performance captivates the audience from The Evening Muse to secret SoFar Charlotte shows. The group’s musical influences range from modern-day singer/songwriters (Dave Matthews, John Mayer, James Bay) to alternative rock giants (Black Keys, Kings of Leon, Arctic Monkeys), giving the trio powerful and well-rounded sound.
