Lucky Tyler Holloway has never felt particularly lucky. Frankly, he's as regular as can be. He works construction with his brothers, loves his small-town life, and shares a close bond with his family, especially his grandmother. Okay, so maybe he has a few secrets in his closet, like his bisexuality…and that other thing he doesn’t talk about…

Grayson ‘Saint’ St. Claire has it all: a dream job in LA, money, freedom. Saint doesn’t do attachments, which is just the way he likes it. Still, he’d be lying if he didn’t admit he missed his deceased parents, the only family he had... Until he gets an email from some guy named Tyler, revealing the existence of a grandmother he’s never met, prompting Saint to drop everything and drive across the country.

Saint and Tyler couldn't be more different. Tyler dislikes Saint on sight, but there's something about Tyler that gets under Saint's skin. It’s not until they get to know one another that everything begins to change for the better. But the Holloways and St. Claires have secrets, their pasts tied together in tragic ways. With the odds stacked against them, Saint and Tyler have to face the fact that love alone might not be enough…

Poignant and Beautiful

4.0
In what has become the norm for this author, Something About You is another beautiful tale of love, friendship, families born and chosen, and realistic, complex characters.

Lucky “Tyler” Holloway is yet another generation of Holloways growing up, living, and dying in Cottage Grove, Virginia. Spoiled by his family, he has a heart of gold, forever looking out for others, polite, protective, and adored by everyone around him.

Grayson “Saint” St. Claire is LA born and bred, a success in his business dealings, and as such a much sought after marketing guru. He’s also an orphan, having lost his parents at just eighteen years old and never having grandparents.

When Tyler emails him out of the blue to tell him he may have family after all, Saint’s world turns upside down and inside out. When he discovers that Tyler is a fantasy come true, topsy turvy is given a new meaning.

This is such a wonderful book! The storyline is well composed, the characters are engaging without being overly gooey, and the chemistry is far beyond hot. These two men coming together brings with them a shift in reality on both sides, learning how to make an “us” out of a “you and me.”

I thoroughly enjoyed the initial friction between the main characters as they circled each other like a couple of dogs with a single bone (no pun intended).

The secondary characters are vast, but none so amusing as Tyler’s and Saint’s grandmothers, Helen and Alice, respectively, a pair that has been living together following the deaths of their husbands many years ago. Rife with snark and witticisms, Helen and Alice instantly charm the reader with their vivacity.

Add in Sienna, Tyler’s best friend since forever, and the main characters have a trio of women full of advice, warnings, and a multitude of stories to share, with each and every encounter adding more smiles to my heart.

In another aspect that has (for me) also become instantly associated with this author, there is a stunning turn of events that left me in shock and in tears with her rendering of emotion and ability to reach out and grab you by the heart. It shoved the entirety of the work into an entirely new direction, and it was done with stunning alacrity.

Watching Tyler unbury and begin to explore his bisexuality was like observing a butterfly eclosion, massive changes during hidden metamorphosis leading to a rebirth as something entirely new.

Oh! I almost forgot the easter eggs! Fans of Hart’s previous works will recognize and appreciate a few prior characters and locations, each of which made me grin. It was a great step back into familiar territory.

By the end, while still hurting from the unexpected turn of events, I was thrilled to watch these two men finding their way to each other. Rather than an HEA, this was an HFN, so I hope that we get to read more as this pair’s lives continue. This is a solid four star read, and I recommend it with the highest of confidence.

Warning: You won’t want to put it down once you start it, so prepare accordingly!
