Emergency room nurse Samuel Mason is offered a ménage relationship with two ex-military men and discovers a love more dangerous—and more exquisite—than he anticipated.
Welcome back to Brighton, Texas. Where any man can find home.
 THE POWER OF THREE
As an emergency room nurse at Brighton General, Samuel Mason spends most of his days caring for the sick and injured, and his nights alone. Until now.
Jack “ Spider” Forrester and Dante Snow have arrived. Retired from the Army, they provide protection to those in need. They’ve come to Brighton to guard Sam’s cousin from a dire threat, but it’s Sam’s world they turn inside out. Jack wears his heart on his sleeve but is no pushover, and Dante is scarred from a past he’d sooner forget. They two are partners in all things, from the bedroom to the office to the street, and they want Sam to join them...for as long as they’re in town. But there is danger ahead, and not just from the type of men these skilled, muscled heroes have sworn to take down. The danger of falling in love.

Interesting Beginning Leads to Delectable Ending
Overall

4.0

Despite being the second in the series, this novella can absolutely be read as a standalone!  This book starts in the middle of a relationship between two personal security warriors in town to guard a woman and one ER nurse who has fallen irrevocably in love with them. There’s nothing in the end of book one, Gabe, to suggest that these three are forming a relationship, and there’s nothing in the beginning of this book to show how they got together.

Yeah, about that – I. Don’t. Care.

Yep, you read that right.  It didn’t phase me in the slightest.  This novella is so packed with stuff that it reads like a full length novel.  All of the characters are introduced in the first book, so they feel familiar from the start of this one even if their relationship with each other isn’t mentioned at all.  Okay yes, it would have been nice to have those details, I’m not arguing that, but holy moly, don’t let that stop you from reading!

This is a menage group whose chemistry is off the charts hot, and whose communication needs some serious remedial work.  As with the first in the series, Sam’s Soldiers includes graphic detailing of surroundings so that you can really “see” the world created.  The flow is smooth as silk, and the writing style of the author is even better than in the first book (in case you haven’t seen my review of it, I was thrilled).  There is plenty of action, feelings evoked (so many feelings!), and a great mystery/suspense subplot that keeps you on the edge of your seat.  This is fully worth four stars!
