About the Author
Hi everyone! I’m Mj O’Shea:) I grew up, and still live, in sunny Washington state and while I love to visit other places, I can’t imagine calling anywhere else home. I spent my childhood writing stories. Sometime in my early teens, the stories turned to romance. Most of those were about me, my friends, and our favorite movie and pop stars. Hopefully, I’ve come a long way since then.

When I’m not writing, I love to play the piano, dance, cook, paint pictures, and of course read! I have two little dogs who sit with me when I write. Sometimes they comes up with ideas for me too…when they’re not busy napping.

Angus has been with the same guy for ten years. When his boyfriend breaks up with him the night of his thirtieth birthday party and announces his engagement to a twenty-two-year-old less than ten hours later, Angus is… a mess. To put it lightly. He spends days in bed, drinks himself into a stupor every night, and ends up losing his job and his apartment. His best and oldest friend, Reece, decides it’s time for an intervention. And a change of scenery.

Reece and Angus take off on a buddy trip across the US. They don’t have much of a plan; they just start driving. It takes Angus a couple of days to do much more than grunt when Reece talks to him, but slowly he opens up. They drive, talk, heal, shout, drink a bit too much sometimes, dance, meet new friends… and somewhere between Portland, Oregon, and Portland, Maine, they fall in love.

Which was the last thing in the world Angus expected.

Sweet, sweet romance.
Open Road is a lovely, sweet, friends to lovers romance. Incredibly sweet at times, but offset by the heartbreak poor Angus is dealing with.
Angus and Reece are best friends who have loved each other for years but neither has ever felt as though they could tell the other. When they do finally wear their hearts on their sleeves, their strong friendship and close relationship makes for a wonderful romance.
Their road trip is educational, particularly for us non Americans I think, and I found myself really drawn in by the places they visited.
Great writing, as always from this author, heartwrenching  emotion at times,  exceedingly lovable MCs and a beautiful love story.
A highly recommended read!
