To really appreciate this story, you really need to have read Off Campus, the first book in the Bend Or Break series.
Communication, Communication, Communication! That is the overriding lesson in this book. Despite having five years of relationship to their credit, Tom and Reese still find it difficult to share there problems with one another.
This is a lovely story, beautifully descriptive, enabling you to truly understand what the guys are going through. There is no doubt that Reese and Tom love each other, that leaps off the page with every interaction, but this book shows that the effects of both the abuse that Reese suffered and the anxiety and emotional trauma that Tom was put through by his father, can be long lasting and so far reaching.
It's a tough read in places, with some uncertainty as to their future. Your heart has to go out to a couple who's pasts are making their presents so difficult.
An emotional, angsty novel, about two wonderfully strong men, who need a reminder, from time to time, of just how strong they really are, and how very important they are to each other. Love-filled, oh so romantic in parts, and seriously sexy. Definitely one for my keep shelf.
