About the Author
Clare took the pen name London from the city where she lives, loves, and writes. A lone, brave female in a frenetic, testosterone-fuelled family home, she juggles her writing with her other day job as an accountant. She’s written in many genres and across many settings, with award-winning novels and short stories published both online and in print. She says she likes variety in her writing while friends say she’s just fickle, but as long as both theories spawn good fiction, she’s happy. Most of her work features male/male romance and drama with a healthy serving of physical passion, as she enjoys both reading and writing about strong, sympathetic and sexy characters.

Clare currently has several novels sulking at that tricky chapter 3 stage and plenty of other projects in mind . . . she just has to find out where she left them in that frenetic, testosterone-fuelled family home.

All the details and free fiction are available at her website. Visit her today and say hello!

A Little Santa Magic.
(Updated: December 06, 2015)

3.5

It's always a little risky writing a novella that follows from a full length novel. There can be assumptions made about the readers knowledge of the MC's. In Nice and Snow, Clare London has, however, given sufficient characterisation to her MC's so that it can be read as a stand alone. You may still find, as I did, that you wished you'd read more about Nuri and Eddie's backstory before reading her novella. I felt I would have enjoyed this magic little story more if I was more invested in the MC's.

Nuri is a Turkish expat, living and studying law in London. He drives a taxi to make extra money, and lives with his 'would be actor' boyfriend, Eddie. Nuri is looking forward to spending a special Christmas with his lover, but Eddie feels like he's being stalked by 'gangs' of Santas. Eddie has an 'almost phobia' of Santa as a result of a childhood 'accident' and trying to make Christmas fun is proving problematic for Nuri.

One night whilst driving Eddie home from playing Santa to a group of children, Nuri spies yet another Santa slumped on a bench in the snow. Offering him a lift gives Nuri and Eddie far more than they could have bargained for and leads them to find more Christmas magic than they could ever have imagined.

Nice and Snow is a light, enjoyable read in the lead up to Christmas. The plot was a little thin for me, but I still had a smile on my face at the end, and that's just what I want at this time of year. It's the sort of book that would be best read and appreciated as part of a holiday anthology but I doubt you'd regret reading it anyway. We all need some magic at this time of year!
