The dark, hypnotizing, and spiraling track that is “mirror” by Tadgh Billy King is to be enjoyed by existentialists of all ages. With a sound as haunting and deliberate as the famous bands of Radiohead and Nirvana, this track becomes an immediate classic. The track has a sound that represents the misunderstood youth and expresses that emotion in both a controlled and explosive way. The electrifying guitar and intoxicating melody are all that is needed to create this psychedelic listening experience.

Tadgh Billy King has a deep baritone voice that is a result of his classical voice training. His voice only adds to the haunting quality of the song. King has experience directing, writing, acting, composing, and is an award winning classical singer. He grew up above a music venue his parents owned in New York City, where he discovered a melting pot of sounds, all inspiring his own music. He was introduced to rock, pop, jazz, and punk through the music venue at his parents bar.

Tadgh Billy King has mysterious lyrics that listeners have to decipher for themselves what they mean. One of his lyrics is, “Chew on peach pits to break through the door.” This cryptic message allows the listener to determine what he may mean while still giving a clear aura of angst. Before the chorus begins, the line, “I see what you do” is repeated. This leaves listeners to question the overall meaning of the song due to its elusive nature. When listeners are able to participate, it makes for a better listening experience.

From the soft guitar intro with hints of electronic sound, this song builds from a gentle melody with hints of introspection to a raging guitar drum combo that explodes during the chorus. It truly resembles a mind that reflects on the worlds that it inhabits and takes the listener along for the journey.

I fell in love with music when I first picked up a guitar at age 8. When I played, my friends and family would smile and spill with joy over the music I played, even though it was never Grammy quality. While my music career never made it past high school, my love for music never waivered. I loved the feeling of bringing a smile to someone's face through music and wanted to keep that passion going. So, I took it upon myself to continue to support and promote artists by writing about their music. This way, I can support my personal passion for music and bring entertain and joy to others through music.  Outside my love for music, I do enjoy a good hike and being in the outdoors. My favorite place that I've hiked is in Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. I love to travel too. I've been to Costa Rica, Vancouver, BC, and England, but the best place by far is Germany on Oktoberfest. I liken that experience to being in New Orleans on Mardi Gras. I like a good book now and then, but I'm more of a streaming fiend. I live for crime docuseries on Netflix, veterinary shows on National Geographic, and re-watching Scrubs on Hulu.
