FAZE wanted to create a visual world that effortlessly translated what the song is about “feeling sexy and feeling magical” so he enlisted the help of special effects artist John Huffnagle along with director Thom Trail and the result moves you through a mystical, fashion forward performance that feels otherworldly.

“Filming the music video for my debut single “Magic” was honestly an amazing experience and I was definitely feeling the magic all day long. It was my first official video shoot so it’s super exciting to watch all my hard work come to fruition and see my dreams realized,” says FAZE of the stunning visual. “I had some really amazing background dancers, one of whom is my great friend Jozef who is also one of the writers on my EP “Eclipse”. My mom and sister were there along with some of my other really close friends so it made the experience even greater for me. I had some out of this world lighting – and some dope fashion that we pulled as well.”

“Magic” marks the first glimpse into FAZE’s debut EP, Eclipse, due in November. The track was written by FAZE and Jozef and produced by Dan and Tom Glashausser (aka Glashaus, a duo known for their work with artists like Moxie Raia).

“Magic was the last song I recorded on my EP Eclipse. Stylistically I wanted to go for something that was influenced by my Persian background – which was outside of the norm for me and also different from mainstream music” says FAZE. “Magic is essentially about falling for someone or something in a way that you’ve never felt before and exploring new territories although it can be scary. “Spirits talking heavens watching” is the voice in our head that reminds us the world is always watching, judging and ridding yourself of those perspectives. Whether it’s the initial spark in a relationship or on a more personal level, the underlying message behind Magic is about stepping outside of your comfort zone and embracing it.

With his unearthly charisma, the sultry-voiced, LA based pop-artist journeys through emotional exploration with his music: the push for self-discovery in an often-painfully chaotic world.

For FAZE, the unfettered honesty of “Magic” and the upcoming EP, Eclipse stems from years of working to uncover his most authentic voice as a songwriter. A member of the LGBTQ community intent on making his art as inclusive as possible, the San Diego native spent years grappling with his identity and finding a sense of belonging—a struggle complicated by his being diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome at the age of seven. From his earliest years, music provided some salvation, and by the age of nine he’d learned to play both piano and cello. “My idea of fun when I was a kid was just sitting in my garden, listening to classical music and playing my cello,” he recalls.

By his early 20s, he’d begun joining in songwriting sessions for leading artists, which went a long way in sharpening his songcraft and refining his vision for his own work. “Even when I was writing for other people, I was always pulling from my own experiences—I can only write what’s real to me,” says FAZE. “But now with Eclipse, I feel like it’s the first time I’m stepping out into the world, and fully showing who I am as an artist.”
