“Jesslee is amazing, she is a phenomenal singer.” – Kelly Clarkson
“Jesslee is a once-in-a-generation artist. She has the swagger of a modern-day Shania Twain with the vocal power of a young Christina Aguilera.” – Music Industry Weekly
Getting to know Jesslee

What would be the ideal food to have cooked for you on a date night?
I’m Italian so Carbonara or a really great pizza would be amazing!
Which fictional character do you wish was real?
Stitch from Lilo and Stitch! I think he is adorable and if he was real he’d be my pet and homie in an instant! Haha!
Would you rather be the one in a movie who gets the hero/heroine or the baddie with all the good lines?

Deffs the baddie with all the good lines … or even could forget all the good line and let me just kick some butt! Haha! Dream role would be Domino from Deadpool!
What was the last thing you dressed up as for fancy dress?
On a normal day, I’m very much a tee shirt, jeans and boots/sneakers kinda girl. On stage my alter ego kicks in and I become a straight entertainer with all the sparkles and jewelry! The most dressed up I got in a while though, was when I was nominated for the HMMA awards in Hollywood, CA for a song of mine nominated for best country song!
What’s your favourite children’s story?
I love, LOVE “The Giving Tree” … the moral behind the story is so sad and true. I cry every time but it’s a beautiful lesson.

What first got you into music?
Music has always been in my blood! My grandparents were touring musicians, my great grandfather was an incredible classical violinist in Italy, both of my sisters have music and musical theatre majors from very prestigious schools and my mom even sang for a president! It’s something I’ve been consumed in all of my life and loved it so much, I knew I had to just go for it! It’s the only thing I can see myself doing for the rest of my life and being truly happy, everyday!
Are you finding the isolation of the pandemic conducive to your writing or is it hindering the experiences you can write about?
I was touring so much, it was actually making harder to write as much as I’d like, at the time. I do truthfully want to be back on the road again because touring nationally and internationally is my favorite part of my job BUT this time has truthfully made me a better writer in a lot of ways. I’ve never written SO MUCH with all of the extra time and I’ve taken this time off the road to be more introspective and learn how to become and even more honest songwriter and story teller! I am sitting on some SONGS I cannot wait to release and wouldn’t have them without this season.
What is one message you would give to your fans?
The message from my song Strong … “Don’t try to compete with anyone. Open your eyes and see, your uniqueness makes you who you are and you’re created beautifully.” This lyric is complete stream of consciousness. Something I’d say out loud to the people I loved and beloved in … but one day I realized I wasn’t saying those same words to myself. I truly believe we are all perfectly created for our life purposes and if we stay true to ourselves and move toward our passions, we can do, be and have everything we want in life.
If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?
I would LOVE to open for Chris Stapleton! He is such an incredible powerhouse vocalist and fantastic writer! A lot of artists bring their opener up to perform a song with them in their show, and I think it would be so cool to sing a duet with him! Same with Carrie Underwood and Randy Houser!
What can we expect from you within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future gigs?
The next 6 months are going to be a blast! We have a music video for the single off my just released, top 5 charting album called Strong! The release date will be announced with in the next two weeks! I also have a collaboration record dropping with multi-time billboard charting artist, Hosier and a few other collaborative singles dropping within that time! I also have another solo single dropping and another EP dropping within the next 6 months! And thank goodness, touring should be getting back to normal around that time! I have about 19 international shows pending at the moment and A TON of venues throughout America pending as well, just waiting clearances from the state. The most exciting show within the next 6 months that is still happening and booked at the moment is Country Fest! It’s the third largest country music festival in the nation and I’ll be main stage as a warm up for Thomas Rhett! Lots of amazing things are coming and I am beyond excited to let it all unfold 🙂

March 16 Jesslee released “21 Jump Start,” her new EP. “Strong,” the lead single from the genre-bending country songstress’ latest effort, premiered exclusively with Taste of Country.
