The Last Element originates when we face the passing of one dearly loved, the hardship of a broken home or the breaking of hearts – it is the first spark, the first sense of emotion, a first feeling that evolves into a creative mind. Bringing these elements together they find a way to grow – Broken hearts fit like pieces of puzzles and these pieces mend into one big heart.

We believe there are many like us, waiting to join our hearts. Together we are stronger, together we are The Last Element. The Last Element has reached +1.4 Million streams, fully DIY and this only proves they are getting the recognition and support from their listeners.

Getting to know The Last Element

Do you sing in the shower? What songs?

Haha actually I practice screams in the shower, trying to get more grit and getting more control. I’m pretty sure my neighbours must love my morning showers 🙂

What was the last TV series you watched on TV?

Got a geeky side here… love watching Anime, so the last one I just finished is Tokyo ghoul and almost done with Attack on titan. Loving it !

What makes you nostalgic?

Old school gaming, stuff like the first gameboy and snes, each time I play games on those consoles I just go back to when times we’re so simple and it was all about just having fun each day!

If you could ask your future self one question, what would it be?

Did we make it?

As a kid were you ever frightened of a monster under the bed or in the cupboard?

As a kid I watched a lot of ghosts movies… damn sleepless nights, hiding underneath the covers, hard to breathe, very hot and damn scared XD I hated it… but still had to watch more and more ghost movies.

Which are cooler? Dinosaurs or Dragons?

Uhmm one breathes fire…. can fly and looks epic, what do you think?

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Heartfelt metal/rock, we always try to keep our own sound and signature, we don’t really try to fit a mold, but just create what we love and each song has its own process.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

Ollie if you are reading this, pleassssse do some guest vocals ;)! Haha we would love to work with some of our favorite bands in the scene, like BMTH or I Prevail those are top of the list.

What’s next for you?

We are working really hard to constantly improve our sound and get to the next level. Our latest release Cut it Off is the first in a long line to come. Each time we try to get closer to what we should sound like. It’s still a difficult journey with a lot of work ahead for Jan and Noah who do the mixing and mastering. But we believe with each release we’ll get closer.

We are already working on our next to make sure it won’t be too long before you can listen to that one as well!

What does your music say about you?

A lot!! Each song is a personal story, something that we’ve been through or are still going through. A way for me to really put my everything into the songs is just to keep the lyrics as close as possible, diving into the feelings that come with them. It can be pretty exhausting from time to time, but it’s also very liberating.

What is your current music project about?

We believe that together we are stronger, with The Last Element we are trying to reach out to those who feel the same as we do, it’s not a band that’s about the musicians, it’s about the listeners. We believe in contrast, life can be pretty damn difficult from time to time, but it can also be so amazing. Mostly the amazing parts arise from sharing your life with others. With this band we just want to keep sharing all we feel and love with the listeners and hopefully more and more people will join our conquest.

What draws you to your preferred genre?

The freedom, the anger, the sadness and the power, but also the room to be uplifting. Metal lets you explore all facets of feelings and there is just nothing like it. I’ve been in a lot of different bands, but never could I give as much as I can now with making the songs we make with TLE.

Where was your last song recorded?

We do everything at home, record everything ourselves. That way we can control the process every step of the way. But it’s also tricky sometimes, it does take a lot of hard working getting everything to sound just the way we like it.
