What inspires your writing? Do you draw inspiration from poems, music, TV, or other media?

I draw inspiration from everywhere. Ideas come from real life experiences, conversations, TV, a t-shirt, a sign on the side of the road, or music. Anything is fair game.

Do you enjoy recording and production?

I really do enjoy recording and production. It’s a continuation of the collaborative process that is always rewarding. Taking a song that I’ve written on the guitar or piano and watching it come to life as it is interpreted by the musicians at the studio is special and every experience is unique.

Where was your current project recorded?

“Alone With You” was recorded at Arch Audio Recording Studio in Chattanooga, TN. I co-produced it with Brian Brewer, who also played the guitar tracks. Kristin Smith did vocal production and sang backup vocals. We had Tyler Reddick on bass, Hale White on keys, and Ivan Garcia on drums. Ethen Martin engineered the recording session, Zach Allen mixed it, and it was mastered by Brian Poole.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

I have become a big Thomas Rhett fan. His songs are always well written and I like the fun and positivity in them, and I love his voice!

If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?

If I could open a show for anyone, it would be Garth Brooks because I love the energy and passion he puts into his performances. There is so much to learn from him. He also seems like the kind of person that would be fun to hang out with.

Do you sing in the shower? What songs?

I always sing in the shower. If the radio is on, I sing along and if not, I sing whatever pops into my head. It is often where new songs get written.

What would be the ideal food to have cooked for you on a date night?

I love so many different things, but French fries are my weakness. They are always a safe bet.

Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?

Definitely Jennifer Garner. Probably one of my favorite TV shows ever was Alias, and I have become a fan.

You are a new addition to a crayon box.  What color would you be and why?

If I were a new addition to a crayon box, I would be yellow because it is a happy color and it makes me think of the warm sunshine.

What do you think the greatest invention has been?

I might have answered this question differently before the tornado that ripped through here last spring and left us with no power for a week, but now I’m thinking electricity was a great invention. It’s easy to take it for granted until we don’t have it.
