At 44 years young, she's decided to enter the next phase of her life by adding the title of "author" to her list of accomplishments that includes single mom of three disturbingly outspoken and decidedly different kids, one of which is Autistic. Smith is and outspoken advocate for Autism and equal rights for the LGBTQ community.

Her Opposites series is based outside the normal parameters of social acceptability, examining a 'what if'... What If to be gay or lesbian were the norm? What if to be straight labeled you as an Opposite and made YOU the Outkast?

Christopher Allan Roberts thought he had a promising future; Captain of the football team with the promise of a scholarship to play for Alabama. His high school sweetheart and best friend for as long as he could remember, Amanda, by his side, and the love and support of his family. One night, one mistake changed everything. Chris moves to New York, adrift and alone. A walk one night brings him to the flashing lights, loud music and thrumming bodies at club Berlin. A flyer in the men’s room promises fame and fortune for anyone willing to go on camera and have sex, with another man. Money is money, and how hard could it be, right?

Christopher Allan Roberts becomes Kris Alen, All Cocks newest addition, a gay for pay porn star.

Lincoln Carter is honest with everyone in his life, including his family, about who he is and about his sexual preferences. Linc Larson, the openly bi-sexual gay porn star will do anything with anyone, which pretty much writes his ticket in a versatility charged industry. It’s not his sexuality that interferes with his personal life; it’s his inability to trust.

What Linc wants right now, more than anything, is the chance to do a scene with All Cocks newest acquisition, Kris Alen. Six foot two with Auburn hair, an exquisitely toned and inked up body, Kris Alen is sex personified. Linc doesn’t know if it’s the “I want the shiny new toy” aspect that calls to him, or the distant and wounded expression that haunts Kris’s eyes.

Linc figures out early on that Kris is only working the gay for pay angle that All Cocks brings to his bank account. Can a bi-sexual man with trust issues break down the barriers that Kris has built around himself and help Christopher overcome the painful past he is running from.

Gay for Pay is a gay for you story about two men that will have to come to terms with the mistakes they made in their past, if they want to stick around and have a chance at a future.

*Advisory warning. This story briefly mentions issues such as drinking and driving, vehicular manslaughter, someone being drugged, a very brief mention of a previous sexual assault (no descriptives of said assault) these warnings are for anyone that has triggers. Good, but not sure this topic is for me.
(Updated: February 12, 2016)
Independent reviewer for Divine Magazine, I was gifted the AUDIO file of this book.

Christopher Allen lost everything the night he got into his truck and drove home. Now he is is New York, homeless and broke. A flyer in a club he finds brings his salvation. Lincoln finds himself more and more drawn to Kris, the newest member of the All Cocks gay porn troupe. But Kris is straight and only doing this for money. Can Linc trust again, after his heart was so badly broken last time??

This is the first book in the All Cocks series, its the first of T. M. Smith's I've read, and it's also the first gay-for-pay book I've read. I'll come back to that bit.

I enjoyed the story, mostly, of Kris and Linc falling in love in the porn industry. It's all very well handled, and I am under no illusions that everyone works as safely as Victor, Matthew and Andrew do with their boys.

Linc's attraction to Kris is immediate and powerful, but he had his heart broken, and quite rightly, keeps it to himself. But the others notice, both Linc and Kris and the attention they give each other, but it takes time for the two of them to do anything about it. Linc needs to trust again, and Kris needs to say goodbye.

We get to hear from both men, in the third and I liked that. It's my favourite way for a book to be written. Multi-POV, in the third. We even get a bit of the bad guy!

What I struggled most with, was the gay-for-pay aspect and the effect it had on Linc and Kris and their story. I understand they had to work together, and that some of that work came over in the story, but I would have liked less of the work and more of the relationship between them. I dunno, maybe its just me, I just didn't like that part.

Tony Clark narrates.

Its the first of his work I've listened to. I did find, at points, his voices were very similar, the voices of the characters all seem to bleed into one another. Only Victor's voice stood out, for obvious reasons. Clark's reading voice is quite high, too, and personally, that gave me some moments where I had to try and figure out what he'd said because I missed it.

Mostly, though, I did enjoy the narration, and the story. I just think I might have enjoyed it more if I had READ it, rather than listened to it. Will I read the other books?? Given the opportunity, yes. Listen to them? With this narrator, possibly not. Its a purely personal reason that I struggle with higher pitch voices, it's why I MUCH prefer to listen to male narrated works than female narrated ones.

4 stars for the story
4 stars for the narration
4 overall.
