How many books to your series? (if it is a series)
Only 1 right now, am thinking about another though. lol
What do you love most about the writing process?
For me, it’s therapeutic. No matter what my mood is, I can write it out through a character in some way or another.
How has your writing evolved since your first book?
With my first book, I had no clue what I was doing-lol. I’ve learned so much over the years about ways to word things, how to get descriptive and how to show emotions better. It’s a process where you learn something every day, which I love that.
Is there message in your novel that you hope readers grasp?
Oh I hope someone out there is getting messages through my words, maybe they help get a better understanding of something, or it helps someone out. I hope I can be someone’s escape from the day in and day out process and take them into another world for just a little while.
One food you don’t care if you never eat it again.
Beets or liver. Yuck!
Would you describe your humor as hilariously funny, oddly quirky, diabolically macabre, or non-existent? Hmmm…I’m going with oddly quirky on this one.
What is your very favorite holiday destination?
Being at home with family.
A few words about your book
This book was a tough one to write, and it deals with a lot of different situations like abuse, death, lost and found friendships, trust and happiness. You just have to bear with it, it starts off hard, but it does get to good parts. Many steamy scenes written in it also. Very, very steamy.
Give us a little insight into your main characters
The main characters in this book are Hayden and Joseph. Hayden’s been to hell and back most of his life, lived through some tough things no one should ever have to go through. Joseph is like a light in his eyes, has survived through things in his life too, and is still caught up in a few of them.
The book blurb
Hayden Montgomery has always been a determined and passionate person, but when his dad passes away, he fears he is lost. Stuck in an abusive relationship, Hayden just wants a way out. Falling down the rabbit hole, Hayden questions his life, and where he belongs in it, or even if he belongs in it.
And then a friend from the past returns. Joseph Mitchell has always been Hayden’s very best friend. After losing touch for a while, Hayden is overjoyed to have Joseph back in his life. Now with Joseph’s love, Hayden finds a way to live again.
But Joseph harbors secrets, secrets that could get them both killed.
Will Joseph risk spilling them to Hayden or take them to the grave?
Can two best friends trust each other and survive over distance, through time and circumstances? Or will they only have Kisses from Heaven at the end?
“You do realize that you’ve got me entirely messed up in the head right now, I can’t even think straight.” The grin fades from Joseph’s face.
“How so?” I caress across his cheeks with my thumbs. “I didn’t mean to confuse you about anything.”
“I’m about to do something I never thought I would do in my life.” His body begins to tremble against mine and he pulls back for just a second and clears his throat. He licks over his bottom lip and all I can do is watch him. It’s sexy as sin. Before I can ask what he’s talking about, he curls me in closer to him. His warm and moist lips press against mine, then pucker. He quickly pulls back. “I’m sorry, I’m nervous, I’ve never done this before, Hayden.”
“Kiss? Yes, you have, I’ve seen it.”
“No, not kiss, but kiss a man. Kiss you like this, you’re my best friend, but I can’t help it right now,” he confides. “I’d often thought about it though, but only where you were concerned. I didn’t think about other men, only you.”
He takes a deep breath, then parts my lips with a slither of his tongue. He delves inside, and the chase begins. It’s a dynamic and instant connection, he moves slowly one way, and my tongue dashes after his, slicking around the tip, then we pucker together and pause. God, the taste of him is deliciously sweet, not a bitter bud on him. He doesn’t even taste like the Scotch we’ve been drinking.
His beautiful blue eyes open, as do mine, and then close again. I love the way he kisses me. So real, so fucking real and full of passion. He laps at my lips, then slowly sucks them into his mouth, tickling them then releases. His tongue dives deeper inside my mouth, then pulls out and he does it again, never skipping a beat. It’s pure perfection to me. I’ve never been kissed this way, not ever.
Oh Chryst, I’m in heaven with him. There’s no pressure or guilt, or a knock coming upside the head out of nowhere, just an overwhelming sense of security. It’s just us, no one around to hurt me or take away a good feeling. Only Joseph and me, alone, and I can finally have one full emotion without interruption.
His warm breath pants against me and I want him so bad, but it’s not my place to go there with him. This is way to new, these feelings and emotions and now I can’t think clear anymore either.
His breath… I just can’t let go of it, especially when it slows. I know he’s ready to pull away, but I can’t let him. Not yet. It would totally crush me right now. I push back into his mouth, and the cycle turns.
I run my tongue between his teeth and gums, licking all the way around his mouth, drawing in his lips when I can, and he lets out a gasp of air. I inhale it as it escapes, swallowing it down as far as I can, so I always have a part of him inside of me, because I already know this won’t ever be able to continue with us.
I stop kissing him now. “I’m sorry, don’t think I tried to do this on purpose, I would never go this route with you. Not on purpose.” I tighten my arms around him.
“I know you wouldn’t, I’m actually not surprised though. Everyone back in the day used to think we went there anyway, right?” He grins.
I give him a quick peck on the lips. “Hell, I don’t know, and don’t really care for that matter. That’s their deal, not ours.” I start laughing.
“They always wanted something to talk about.” He arches a brow.
I know this look well. “Well, this would flip their lid, huh?”
Joseph starts cracking up. When he finishes, he pulls me in tight again, me still sitting on his lap like an idiot. He tightens his grip around me, adjusting his hands where one is on the back of my shoulder blade and the other caressing up and down my spine and he presses his lips to mine again.
“Let’s give them all something to talk about then.”
