Back Lot Bash Announces 15th Anniversary Entertainment Line-Up

 Back Lot Bash, the Midwest’s most-attended women’s festival taking place every Pride in Chicago, has announced its 2018 15th Anniversary entertainment lineup. 

The headliners are DJ and lesbian icon Kate Moennig (from Showtime’s original
series, The L Word), KITTENS, Brooke Candy, rapper and Chicagoan Jade The Ivy, Bridget Lyons, Whitney Mixter, Rose Garcia & Chicago’s female rockers Catfight, The rest of the slate is equally eye-popping with these trendy tastemakers on the bill: Dance Loud, DJ All the Way Kay and DJ Zel. 

Back Lot Bash has established itself as one of the nation’s top destinations during Pride Weekend celebrations. Founded in 2004 by Amie Klujian and Christina Wiesmore- Roberts, the hottest, most rockin’ festival for queer women spans over two weekends – June 15, and June 22-24 – in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood. 

Showcasing local and emerging talent as well as established performers of different genres, Back Lot Bash highlights unity, equality and inclusiveness in an environment that is festive and celebratory of everyone in the LGBTQ community. 

Since 2004, the event has grown from a single-day event to a 4-day weekend party drawing immense crowds from all over the Midwest and across the US. Co-founders Christina Wiesmore Roberts and Amie Klujian strive to bring the community together and to be active citizens by raising money for community organizations. 

Now celebrating 15 years of producing events for and celebrating Chicago’s LGBTQ community, powerhouse duo, Kujian and Wiesmore-Roberts continue to be inspiring female daredevils and trailblazing local voices in their community. In 2017 HRC recognized Back Lot Bash by awarding the duo with an esteemed Chicago Community Service Award. The duo was also featured in GO Magazine’s 2017 list of 100 Top women influencers, tastemakers and trendsetters who are making a difference for the LGBTQ community.

FRIDAY, JUNE 15—GIRLS NIGHT OUT (9pm): Back Lot Bash is bringing Von Kiss and DJ Goodboy to Chicago to throw down some high octane beats in this sexy and fun ‘girls night out.’ The party goes deep into the night at Mary’s Attic (5400 N. FRIDAY JUNE 22—WHISKEY, WINE & WOMEN TASTING EVENT (7pm): Back Lot Bash’s newest signature event! Come Mix, Mingle, and Grab a Taste of an array of fine whiskeys, wines & craft beer. Signer/Songwriter Bridget Lyons brings her popular musical talents to the tasting and DJ ZEL and DJ ALL THE WAY KAY make it a night to remember with their steady flow cool beats. SATURDAY, JUNE 23—6th ANNUAL ‘PRIDE KIDS & FAMILY FEST’ (11am-2pm): This day of fun for LGBTQ families and friends is sponsored by BMO Harris Bank and features face painting, balloon artists, arts/crafts, family photos, petting zoo and more! Stage performances by award winning singer/songwriter and children’s musician Laura Doherty & The Heartbeats as well Mr. Nilsson’s Open Orchestra which features live band karaoke for kids.
