In the spotlight: Nicholas Bella

I’m just a person with a wild imagination and a love for words who was sitting around the house one day and said, “Why hasn’t anyone written a book like this before?”.

‘As with every storyteller, I wanted to share mine with the world. I like my erotica dark, gritty, sexy… and even a little raunchy. I’m not afraid to go there and I hope you aren’t afraid to go there with me. When I’m not writing, I love watching movies and TV shows, clubbing, biking, and hanging out with family and friends. I love life.

Author Interview

So, what have you written?

I’ve written three series so far. The New Haven Series, The Demon Gate Series and Cobra: The Gay Vigilante Series. All are dark, twisted, sexy and sadistic in the best way possible.

How many books to your series? (if it is a series)

My series are written in episodes, so each book is an episode. The New Haven has about 19 books. It’s also going into a spin-off titled The Odin Chronicles (coming soon). The Demon Gate series, season one has 9 episodes and the Cobra series has 2 episodes published and a new one (Unlawful) coming soon.

Do you think that giving books away free works and why?

It does, but you really can’t predict how much it will help generate interest and sells. You can give away 1000 books, but how many people will read them? And out of how many people read your book, how many people enjoyed it? These are the variables that have to be taken into account when doing giveaways.

What do you love most about the writing process?

I love writing. I love being able to create entire worlds and characters and have them come to life. The best part is sharing that creativity with others and bringing joy to people through storytelling.

How has your writing evolved since your first book?

I feel that I have developed my own, unique writing style. I also take into account the pointers my editor has given me so that I can tell an even better story.

Is there a certain type of scene that’s harder for you to write than any others? Love? Action? Romance? Tragedy?

Actually, as long as I’m in the right mindset, I don’t really have any difficulty writing those scenes. I see the plot playing like a movie in my head, so I simply write what I see, so to speak.

What do you think makes your book stand out from the crowd?

I believe my book stands out because there isn’t anything else like it out there. All of my series are unpredictable, offering something new to multiple genres, which my fans enjoy very much. My books are written with love and it shows.

What’s the one thing that has really surprised you since you started writing?

I guess I can say that I’ve been surprised by how many people have enjoyed my writing. I feel honored and blessed and take nothing for granted.

Is there a message in your novel that you hope readers grasp?

Not really, well at least not anything I can pinpoint. If people get messages out of my writing, if a character speaks to them, I think that’s wonderful.

One food you don’t care if you never eat it again.

I hate Spinach. LOL

Would you describe your humor as hilariously funny, oddly quirky, diabolically macabre, or non-existent?

I believe my humor just comes off naturally for me and when I incorporate it with my characters, it comes off just as natural for them. Readers may find it hilariously funny, quirky and even diabolically macabre. 😀

5 Things people wouldn’t know about Nicholas Bella?

I don’t own any Star Wars or Star Trek DVDs. I am afraid to fly. I love anime. I got Aimee Nicole Walker hooked on Supernatural and I watch about 35 TV shows in a year.

What is your very favorite holiday destination?

Someplace fun, warm and with plenty of things to do.

Are there misconceptions people have about your genre?

I’m sure there are, I like to think that my books defy them and leave readers pleased and anticipating more. I simply want to entertain people and that makes writing fun for me.

Do you have a Bucket List? If so top 5 things on it?

No, no bucket list.

What are some jobs you’ve held? Have any of them impacted your writing? How?

I’ve worked in an animal shelter and as a washroom attendant, to name a few. I can honestly say that none of my jobs have impacted my writing. I love animals and I enjoyed meeting people if anything, I got to hear a lot of awesome accents as a washroom attendant.

Have you ever gone to a convention? If so, how was it? If not, do you think it’s something you’d like to do in the future?

I’ve been to conventions for anime which was a lot of fun. As for attending a book convention in the future, maybe.

Have you ever written a scene where it has reduced you to tears?

I have written scenes that have brought my readers to tears, but I haven’t cried while writing a scene… yet. LOL.

Is there a character you feel especially connected to? Why?

I feel specially connected to all of my characters. I don’t have a favorite because I enjoy writing for each one.

Chained in Darkness Season One of the New Haven Series by Nicholas Bella

I’ve been betrayed by someone I trusted. Because of him, I was captured by my loathed enemy: The vampires. Right now, the sun is still high in the sky, but I know when it sets, I’m as good as dead. They can’t wait to get their fangs into me. I guess some would say I have it coming. I did raise a lot of hell with my Resistance crew, and I was planning on raising a hell of a lot more at dawn before I was sold out by Jonah. The vampires, werewolves and dragons, have been trying to track me down for months and I’d always been two steps ahead of them.

*Laughs* I guess my number is up. I just hope they make it quick. You see, the vampires in my reality aren’t the romantic lot you read about in books. They don’t sparkle or hang out at high schools with their teenage girlfriends. Hell no, vampires are brutal, calculating, sadistic and bloodthirsty. As a matter of fact, all of the monsters are! That’s how they were able to take over the world so easily and change an entire civilization to suit their needs. Whatever happens, I know it’s not going to be pretty, so I’m preparing myself for the worst. May God help me.

Warning: This novelette series contains hardcore sexual situations between men, not meant for sensitive eyes. I’m talking crude, lewd and full of attitude. This series will most likely either offend you or get ya revved up. This series isn’t going to be pulling any punches whatsoever, so you’ve been warned. Mature Adult Content meant for readers looking for something dark, taboo, sexy, and unapologetic in their paranormal erotica. This is NOT a romance.

Again, he laughed, then rose, taking his place behind me, so that he was no longer blocking the crowd’s view or the cameras. He unhooked the collar from my neck, freeing me from the pole. “You’re about to become the thing you hate. Let the games begin,” he whispered into my ear.

My heart felt like it was going to jump out of my chest it was pounding so hard. I was starting to hyperventilate. My head was feeling light, and a wave of dizziness washed over me. I swayed as he took hold of my shoulders. The roar of the crowd became deafening again. There were cheers and there were some boos. Apparently, not everyone was happy to see me cross over, including me. His grip on my shoulders tightened and I went into full panic mode. I tried to rise, to get away, but it was no use. Between his vice-like grip and the chains binding my wrists and ankles, I wasn’t going anywhere.

“NO!” I screamed as I felt him lean closer to me. “Ahhhhhh!” he struck like a viper, tearing into my neck. Oh my God, it’s happening, it’s actually happening, no, no, no, God, please no! The pain of his fangs gnashing my flesh was excruciating for the first couple of seconds, then I began to feel a tingle.  Pleasure began to work its way from his bite to my groin, dissolving the pain. Oh fuck! My body began to throb with ecstasy. It was so different than what I’d heard about. The stories that flowed through the grapevine spoke of immense pain from the vampire’s bite, not this ecstasy that I was feeling. This sensation I was feeling was beyond the joys of sex, it was that, but ten times that. Against my will, I leaned back into Théoden, turning my head to give him a better advantage and he took it, tilting his angle and biting harder. I gasped, quaking in pleasure as he drank from me. Dimly, I was aware of the other vampire, the master of ceremony one, laughing.

“They all submit to your bite,” I think I heard him saying.

I didn’t care, not at that moment, at least. I wanted what Théoden was giving me. I wanted it to go on and on and on. Holy shit, it felt fantastic!

I’d love to hear from you, feel free to send me a shout out!
