Pools are amazing features for any backyard, as almost everyone loves a good day swimming or relaxing by the water. But owning a pool requires lots of work because it constantly gets dirty. Luckily, there are many tools and accessories that keep your pool area clean. Here we’ll go over the basic ones that most pools owners can use.
Shock
The first tool that helps keep your pool area clean is a chemical treatment called shock. It’s a powerful treatment you add into the water of a pool when normal chlorine won’t do. It helps kill off most bacteria and resets the pool’s chemical balance. As long as the pool isn’t extremely dirty, shocking it will help you keep it clean.
Skimmer
A skimmer is a long tool that people use to scoop out any debris in the pool. This won’t fix any chemical imbalances, but it will let you grab anything that falls into the pool without getting wet in most cases. This is extremely useful for outdoor pools that aren’t in an enclosure.
Pool Cover
Debris constantly falls into pools because they sit open to the air. This becomes a huge hassle when things fall into the water. Luckily, you can get a pool cover to prevent most debris from entering your pool. Putting the pool cover on whenever you aren’t using the pool will drastically reduce your cleaning time.
Kick Plates
There are many reasons to use kick plates for your pool enclosure. For one, they help keep mud and water from spilling around the space. Although pools are amazing, they hold an inherent risk since they hold so much water near your house. Kick plates stop water from flowing out of the pool enclosure and into surrounding areas.
Manual Vacuum
Another tool that can be helpful for cleaning is a manual vacuum that can suck up debris from pools directly. This is great because not many vacuums can work around water. So this tool can significantly speed up your cleaning process.
These are the accessories that keep your pool area clean. Other things can help when cleaning a pool and the surrounding area as well. For example, tennis balls are great for absorbing chemicals that sit on top of the water in the pool.
